We are Mandy and Willo, both from Ireland and working in the UK. We split our time between Saumur and Kent and have a vision of living in Saumur permanently in the future with our 2 chocolate Labradors. We bought a six bedroom townhouse, known as a Maison Bourgeoise in late 2018 and set about renovating it to restore it’s original French elegance, while also adding an Irish welcoming feel to our home. Life in Saumur has been a gift and a wine holiday in the Loire region ignited a love affair with all that there is here. The Loire Valley is full of gardens, orchards, stunning architecture and châteaux, diverse landscapes and vineyards, all accompanies a refined gastronomy, fish caught in abundance, local fresh produce and not forgetting the cheeses. All this rich tapestry that envelopes the region, it's no wonder the 'art of living the French way' was launched here. There's more to the art of living the French way than this, not least a pace of life that breathes contentment. For us, to start with the above and to dive in and immerse oneself into the beauty of all that Loire valley has to offer, is liberating in itself.
